SPCA International (SPCAI) and the Clean Futures Fund (CFF) are doing incredible work to bring essential support to over 300 stray dogs living near the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. We're proud to support their efforts, providing vital aid as they continue their inspiring mission to care for these resilient animals.
Residing within the hazardous Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, these dogs endure extreme weather, food scarcity, and the trauma of war. Many have found temporary shelter in abandoned buildings within the plant, but these structures are unsafe and deteriorating. To support these vulnerable animals, Farm & Yard donated 20 CozyCube™ insulated dog houses. Built for extreme weather, the CozyCubes™ will provide safe, warm refuge in secure areas, protecting the dogs from the brutal cold.
This effort is part of a larger collaboration with SPCAI and CFF, who are working to provide not only shelter but also food and veterinary care for these resilient animals. “Our CozyCubes™ are designed to deliver safety and comfort even in the toughest conditions,” said Adam Fowler, CEO of Farm & Yard. “We’re honored to contribute to this mission and help offer these dogs a chance at survival.”
Through a special agreement with the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, CFF has secured safe spaces within the exclusion zone where these dogs can receive care and shelter.
"These shelters are more than protection from the cold," said Lori Kalef, Director of Programs at SPCAI. "They provide a safe place where the dogs can feel secure, offering a vital lifeline."
